Cybersecurity for Houston Small Businesses; Practical, Not Performative

Nexilva was founded because small businesses kept getting left behind.

They’d get hit with ransomware, a hacked website, or data wiped clean; and find out afterward that the cause was completely preventable. An outdated plugin. A WiFi network that hadn’t been touched since the business opened. A staff member who clicked the wrong link because nobody ever showed them what to look for.

The knowledge and tools to prevent these things exist. Small businesses in Houston just rarely have anyone in their corner who will actually show up, explain it plainly, and fix it without charging enterprise prices.

That’s the gap Nexilva fills.

How We Work

We look at your business the way an attacker would.

Where’s the easiest way in? What’s being overlooked? What would cause the most damage if it went wrong?

Then we fix it; and explain what we did and why, so you’re not dependent on us to understand your own systems.

We don’t sell tools you don’t need. We don’t hand you a 40-page report and disappear. We work with small and mid-sized businesses across Houston that rely on their systems every day and need security that actually fits how they operate.

If something isn’t a real risk to your business, we’ll tell you. If it is, we’ll show you exactly what it looks like and what it takes to close it.

What We Cover

We provide a range of cybersecurity services for Houston small businesses:

Background

Our team has secured systems across a wide range of environments; from small business infrastructure to high-traffic platforms handling millions of users. We’ve done data recovery on systems that were hours from complete failure, hardened applications against active attack patterns, and built secure infrastructure for organizations where downtime wasn’t an option.

The same discipline that goes into high-stakes work goes into every engagement, regardless of size.

Texas SB 2610 and Small Business Cybersecurity

Texas Senate Bill 2610, effective September 1, 2025, gives small businesses legal protection from punitive damages after a data breach; but only if a qualifying cybersecurity program was already in place.

If your business has fewer than 250 employees and handles customer data, this law applies to you. We help Houston small businesses implement and document the programs that qualify under this law.
